5 – Day Oceano Galapagos Islands Travel Tour

The five-day Oceano Program is a short but all-encompassing itinerary among our Galapagos Islands Travel tours. It features a comprehensive travel plan with the perfect length for a family vacation or solo travelers alike.

You will travel to three of the Galapagos Islands: Santa Cruz, Isabela plus one Navigable Island site (either Bartolomé, Seymour, Santa Fe or Plazas).

Activities include swiming with sea-lions, snorkeling with sharks and sea-turtles in Isabela, getting close to giant tortoises in their natural habitat in Santa Cruz.

Explore of the most awesome landscapes in the Archipelago while accompanied by a bilingual naturalist guides and staying at the hotel class of your choice.

DEPARTURE TIME	You must arrive before 11:00 AM for a prompt departure at 14:00 PM. *Ask for more details.

WEAR	Comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, hat, jacket and sunscreen.
INCLUDED	Accommodation in selected hotels (double rooms). All meals in Galapagos (breakfast – lunch – dinner). All land and sea transportation within the Galapagos during the program. Bilingual naturalist guides for each island and all activities. Excursions and visits during the program. Snorkeling Equipment (mask, fins, tube). Transfer-in and out from Baltra Airport (by truck or by bus depending on group size). Transfer Puerto Ayora – Isabela – Puerto Ayora by public speedboat.
NOT INCLUDED	Air Ticket. Galapagos National Park Entry Fee – $200.00 US per person. Isabela Dock Fee – $10.00 US per person. Migratory Control Card – $20.00 US per person. Transportation Baltra Airport – Itabaca Channel – USD 5 p.p. (subject to change). Transportation Itabaca Channel – Baltra Airport – USD 5 p.p. (subject to change). Day 1

Arrive in Baltra - Tranfer to Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island): Visit the Highlands

Arrival from Quito or Guayaquil. At the airport in Baltra, you will meet up with your English speaking guide who will assist you in the transfer to Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island). Here we you will enjoy lunch and after a short rest move on to visit the Highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Here you will have the wonderful chance to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat.

Day 2

Full Day Navigable Tour to ONE of the following Islands

Depending on the dates and/or navigable site available, pick-up from the hotel will be early on the morning (either 5 or 8 AM) to take you to the small vessel at the embarkation point (either Puerto Ayora dock or Itabaca Channel) for a unique close-up with wildlife and endemic vegetation. The destination can be either Santa Fe, South Plazas, North Seymour OR Bartolomé. The activities will include hiking, snorkeling, swimming and breathtaking sightseeing. After land and sea excursions, we will return back to the hotel in Santa Cruz where you can relax and later on have dinner at the restaurant specified by the guide. Overnight in Santa Cruz.

Day 3

Santa Cruz Island: Charles Darwin Station - Transfer to Isabela Island

After breakfast we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, where we will have the great opportunity to see a large variety of Giant Galápagos tortoises as representatives to the most important islands on the archipelago. Afterwards, we will take the public speedboat to Isabela (14:00), which lasts approximately 2 ½ hours. At the Isabela Island dock, one of our representatives will pick you up to transfer you to the hotel of your choice. On the way to the hotel he will give you instructions for dinner and other activities for the day and the following day.

Day 4

Isabela Island: Siera Negra & Chico Volcano

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will have a full day tour of the Sierra Negra Volcano. This volcano is located 13 miles from Puerto Villamil and is the world’s second largest volcanic crater, measuring 6 miles in diameter and 300 feet deep. We will hike the crater and enjoy the view of the beach below before continuing on to Volcan Chico, a still active volcano which warms the surrounding ground. (Box lunch will be provided).

Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore at your own pace and discover the wonders this natural paradise has to offer.

Day 5

Transfer-out to Baltra Airpot

Early in the morning (06:00 am), we will take the public speedboat from Isabela to Puerto Ayora, where the guide will be waiting for you to take you will eat breakfast. AAfter breakfast, we will travel to Baltra Airport. On the way out, we will stop by “The Twins” (a.k.a. “The Gemelos”), which are crater-like formations naturally built from the collapse of the earth and lava flows. The tour will end upon the arrival to the airport where you will catch your plane to either Quito or Guayaquil.
