Cuyabeno River Lodge is Budget Class lodge sitting upon 300 acres in a privately protected zone of the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Carries ecotourism activtities in an environmental and cultural safe manner, working with the local indigenous communities to walk its visitors through the natural and cultural beauty of the area.

Over 500 species of birds, 450 species of fish, 12,000 plant species, and hundreds of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians can be found in this diverse ecosystem. 

The lodge caries 4 and 5 day standard tours to while lodging in native-style cabins on the banks of the Cuyabeno River. It includes jungle hikes with a bilingual guide, learning about medicinal plants, visiting the Laguna Grande, preparing a traditional food dish with an indigenous family, rowing in native-style canoes, piranha fishing, bird observation, and nocturnal animal walks. Between activities, there is plenty of time to rest in hammocks or cool off in the Cuyabeno River.

More about Cuyabeno River Lodge

Biodegradable soap is provieded to each tourist upon arrival. The Lodge uses filtered draining systems to reduce the introduction of harmful waste into the Cuyabeno’s delicate ecosystem.
There is compost for all biodegradable products, and all other waste is taken out of the reserve to be disposed of properly.

80% of the cabins are composed of, and maintained with, wood from trees that have fallen naturally. Cabind do not impact on the surrounding soil because they are elevated above ground; ensuring nothing is damaged. Fibreglass canoes to reduce deforestation. By visiting indigenous communities, you are helping the community by  supporting local industries in the process.
