Quito Cable Car Tour short description.
Travel through the Occidental Avenue towards the embarking point of Teleferico Cable Car. Ride 4050m high and land on Cruz Loma to enjoy an outstanding view of the city and the volcanoes surrounding it.
Hike on the surrounding areas or enjoy a horse ride. On the afternoon, we will move on to the Middle of the World site. The embarking spot for the modern “TeleferiQ” Cable Car is right at the feet of Mount Pichincha.
After pick up at hotel, we ride through Occidental Av. to the embarking point of TeleferiQ parking lot (2950 m.A.S.L) to mount up on our teleferico car. We will then ride up 4050 m. high to land on the Pichincha ladders, aka. Cruz Loma.
The chilly wind and the lovely landscape is ideal for a small hike o optional horse ride on the area. This site offers an outstanding panoramic view of almost the whole Quito City and the volcanoes that shield her (a open sky day provide view of Antisana, Cotopaxi and Cayambe and up to 13 volcanoes and summits around Quito).
After this, we continue driving 15 Km. north from Quito towards the Middle of the World site. On the small citadel, we will visit the Middle of the World Monument, built in honor to the French Scientific Expedition (XVIII century) that tried defined the location of the equator for the first time.
Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit the Inti Ñan Museum, a scientific and cultural museum located in the actual place where the Equator Line crosses. We will then hit the road again to Volcan Pululahua view point before heading back to the city.
