The traceable history of the farm house takes us back to 1784, when a general, Don Ignacio Checa and Carrascosa de la Torre, bought the hacienda Tumbaco. Since then, this -thick adobe walls- construction has hosted quite a few important persons, and has witnessed many important decisions in the history of Ecuador: Jesuits, diplomats and presidents lived within these walls; Their words still echo in the studio or in the spacious rooms carefully decorated; still can be felt in the church, the solemnity of the prayers of the priests, and the songs at the weddings.

Nowadays the property has been fully restored preserving its historical, artistic and architectural valuables; a part of its history is reproduced here, another, perhaps most of it, you may hear it during your stay and that part that we might missed we would send it to you as soon as we learn it.
