Description Tour: Tintoreras Galapagos Snorkeling Tour.
Embark on a short navigation to Las Tintoreras, a chain of small islets located in the south of Puerto Villamil, Isabela. This bio diverse site is home to hite-tipped sharks (Tintoreras), sea lions, marine turtle, iguanas, manta rays, and more.
Be ready at San Vicente Hotel 20 minutes prior to departure time (informed upon trip confirmation) to have enough time to try on your snorkeling equipment (mask, tube and fins).
Afterwards, go to the meeting point of the tour at the Puerto Villamil Dock (transfer to this spot is not included) in order to embark on small speedboats (12 passenger capacity) towards Tintoreras. After a short ride (approx. 15 min.), arrive at Tintoreras Islet. The name of the islet derives from the sharks that inhabit in the waters surrounding the islet, the famous white-tipped fins Tintorera Sharks. The islet is one of the most fascinating places on Isabela Island.
Galapagos sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, Sally Lightfoot Crabs, sea turtles, pelicans, and Galapagos Penguins can all be found in this site. It is also one of main breeding sites for marine iguanas, and a great spot to get a close-up with them. After a hike around the islet, get back on the boat and cool off by snorkeling in the waters nearby. Swimming next to multicolor fish, starfish, sea urchins, and with luck stingrays, sharks, and sea lions is a major highlight in this excursion. Return to the dock.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to fulfill this tour, you must be at Isabela Island (Puerto Villamil) one day prior to departure.
