Fernandina Island Galapagos
Brief Description:
Considered as the third largest and yougest island of the archipelago Fernandina has active volcanoes, in the southern side of one of it is a fissure eruption that sporadically generate flows. Punta Espinoza is famous by the biggest marine iguanas colony that sun themselves on the lava rocks. Fernandina Island Galapagos is the home of two unique in the world endemic birds (flightless cormorants and tiny Galapagos penguins). Its name come in honor to King ferdinand II of Aragon who sponsored the Culumbus voyages.

Wildlife to see: Mangroves and Cactus dominate the vegetation, even although recently volcano activities that decrease the plant life having a rather grey ambiance. You may spot penguins, sea lions and marine iguanas.
