ALTITUDE INFORMATION: It ranges from 1.600 to 2.200 meters above sea level. The temperature ranges from 14º a 25ºC.

IMPORTANT: The Otavalo station has no parking but there are paid public parking lots in the area (El Jordan Mall on Atahualpa street). Otavalo is 90 kilometers away from Quito and connected by the Pan American Highway and it takes 1h45 to 2h00 hours of travel time depending on traffic (especially heavy on weekends and holidays).

07:30 Passengers check-in and board the train at the Otavalo station TRAIN
08:00  Train departs for San Roque station
 Passengers visit the San Roque station, and learn about the community’s history and its relationship with the train. 
08:45  Train departs for Andrade Marin
 08:55  Passengers arrive at the Andrade Marin station, and take part in a guided tour of the recently-restored “Fábrica Imbabura” textile museum, testament to the industrial revolution in Ecuador
09:45  Train departs for Ibarra
10:25  Arrival at the Ibarra station, boarding of new passengers, use of lavatories
10:40 Train departs from the Ibarra station with destination to Salinas
11:40 Arrival at the Hoja Blanca station. Visit to the Yachay interpretation center, optional purchases can be made in the Café del Tren (Train Café), where passengers may enjoy food and drink for purchase
12:00 Train departs for Salinas
12:30 Arrival at Salinas, passengers disembark and are met by the local community
12:40 Passengers receive an Afro-Ecuadorian cultural dance presentation, the “La Bomba” traditional dance. Time to visit the Café del Tren (Train Café), where passengers may enjoy food and drink for purchase    WALKING
13:00  Artisan Market Plaza visit, where souvenirs can be purchased
13:10  Guided tour of the town of Salinas, visit to the Salt Museum (Museo de la Sal) or the Salinas Ethnografic Exhibits (Sala Etnográfica de Salinas)
14:00  Lunch is served in Salinas to those passengers with product included BUS
17:00  Passengers board the tour bus and depart for Otavalo
18:00  Arrival at the Otavalo train station, end of services
