Cabins on board Santa Cruz II
All cabins have large windows instead of portholes, a private bathroom with shower, individually controlled air conditioning, a safe, a hair dryer, a desk, 110V outlets and USB ports, biodegradable toiletries and reusable water bottles. 36 cabins can be interconnected.
- Explorer cabins (43): 15.2 m² (163 ft²) for two guests.
- Explorer Family cabins (2): 17.8 m² (192 ft²) for two adults and one child under 12.
- Darwin Suites (3): 30.2 m² (325 ft²) with double picture windows, for two adults and one child under 12; they can connect to an Explorer cabin.
- Voyager cabins (2): 11.8 m² (127 ft²) for solo travelers.
Life on board
The ship has five decks. The Sky deck has an outdoor sun area and a fitness room; the Panorama deck, a covered terrace, bar and lounge; the Expedition deck, a coffee and snack station, a science corner, a library, a lounge with veranda and two outdoor hot tubs. Meals are served at the Beagle Restaurant. Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship (low bandwidth).
At each visitor site, guests choose between hiking, snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, coastal panga rides and glass-bottom boat outings.
Safety and sustainability: 182 life vests, fourteen 27-person life rafts, a medical officer on every departure, water desalination and treatment, waste recycling and fuel-efficient engines.
Santa Cruz II itineraries
- Northern, 5 days (Monday to Friday): Santa Cruz (Bachas Beach, Giant Tortoise Reserve), Santiago (Buccaneer Cove, Egas Port), Rábida, Bartolomé and Genovesa (Prince Philip’s Steps, Darwin Bay). Best for seabird colonies and the iconic Pinnacle Rock view.
- Western, 5 days (Thursday to Monday): Santa Cruz (Dragon Hill, Charles Darwin Research Station, Highlands), Isabela (Vicente Roca Point), Fernandina (Espinoza Point) and Floreana. Best for marine iguanas, flightless cormorants and penguins.
- Eastern, 7 days (Friday to Thursday): Mosquera, San Cristóbal (Pitt Point, Cerro Colorado), Santa Fe, South Plaza, Santa Cruz, Española (Suárez Point, Gardner Bay), Eden Islet and North Seymour. Best for waved albatross (April to December) and sea lions.
